Brunch at Groot Phesantekraal Wine & Restaurant
This restaurant is nestled on the outskirts of Durbanville. The road that leads to the restaurant offers the most spectacular views of the Farm.
The restaurants décor is a stunning mix of vintage and modern. Huge barn style glass doors, old photographs of the farm, a large oak reception desk as well as old farming implements.
Diners are welcomed by a friendly hostess. You have the choice of dining indoors or in the courtyard.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious mouthwatering dishes that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike. I had the 200g homemade beef burger with streaky bacon, topped with cheese and placed in very fresh buns. Special mention is the delicious side order of chips.
Our knowledgeable and friendly waiter recommended the margarita pizza to my partner who requested chorizo as a topping. The Shiraz that was served by the glass was light and fruity.
The restaurant trades from Tuesday to Saturdays. Tuesday to Friday: Breakfast/Brunch is served from 8:00am to 11:30am. Lunch is served from 12:00 until 3:30pm. Saturdays offer a Brunch menu which is served from 9:00am to 2:30pm. The menu has a variety of starters, salads, steaks, seafood and desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant, as not only is the food delicious, the atmosphere and staff are brilliant.
I highly recommend the Earl Grey cheesecake for dessert.
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. This is a boutique wine farm with an indoor wine tasting venue that offers the best wines in the region.
Reservations are recommended as this is a popular eatery.
